Working with partners like WSP, the modular approach combines manufacturing, and digital design with program-level thinking to accelerate delivery, and quality, while significantly reducing time, carbon emissions, and costs on projects.
Instead of working the way we always have done, which today would be inefficient, we now make data-driven decisions and design our projects within a Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) approach. This means we’re able to work offsite for longer, reduce the number of trips to sites, and ensure time spent on site is as efficient as possible.Â

By manufacturing and assembling off-site, projects that would traditionally take months can often be delivered in a matter of weeks. At Manchester Airport, our approach reduced a build that would normally take 110 days down to just 12 days.
Sustainability is at the core of our business. The kit-of-parts approach reduces site traffic, lowers energy use, and prevents unnecessary waste. At Manchester Airport, 125 tonnes of CO2 emissions were prevented thanks to this method.
Fewer deliveries, shorter build times, and reduced labour needs mean that clients can expect significant cost savings. At the same time, off-site fabrication ensures predictable outcomes, with fewer risks of delays or errors.
By limiting time spent on site, safety risks are minimised. Pre-assembled units reduce the need for complex and high-risk work at height, protecting workers and meeting stringent health and safety standards.

The concept is simple yet powerful. Instead of fabricating and assembling thousands of individual steel components on site, Pro Steel Engineering creates larger, standardised, and pre-assembled units in our factory. These are then transported to site for rapid installation.
