Pro Steel Engineering has won the Growth Business of the Year category at the South Wales Chamber Welsh Business Awards.

Announced last night at the National Museum Cardiff by television presenter Gethin Jones, director Richard Selby was thrilled to collect the award.

Richard Selby, director at Pro Steel Engineering, said: “We took a huge risk to develop the business, leaving senior manager roles in a large firm and putting assets on the line to secure finance. We did it because we strongly believe in the business’ potential. The past few years have been a whirlwind and it feels wonderful to get this support and recognition from the chamber and its members. Pro Steel Engineering is really starting to turn heads in the industry by successfully deploying an innovative working model on high-profile contracts across the UK.”

Sponsored by Vodafone, the award recognises the business, that can demonstrate marked growth in sales, profits, products offered or staff in the last 12 months. The winner is able to describe the strategy they took to help them grow including research, preparation and implementation, plus they will demonstrate how growth in areas of the business has helped the business overall.
